First Hour Sunday School Classes

Adult Sunday School Classes at 9:00 a.m.

AMBASSADORS :: Conference Center :: 20s-30s, single and married
This interactive, discussion based class is for young adults in their 20’s and 30’s. Topics include life purpose and career, faith in our culture, and common struggles of young adults. Facilitated by an active and engaged team of young adult classmates who are mentored by longtime church members. Contact: Young Adults Connections Team (youngadults@cspc.net)

BRIDGEBUILDERS :: B207 :: Couples, 40s - 50s
Consists of married couples in their 40s - 50s with an average class attendance of 20-30.   Currently, doing a study on the book "Margin" by Richard Swenson followed by a short series on prayer. Contact Ron Buzzeo (719-9139).

COMMUNITY CLASS :: B203 :: Couples/singles, all ages
The Community Class is made up of couples and singles. All ages are welcome. This fall the class is being taught by a variety of different teachers and class members.

CORNERSTONE :: B226 :: Couples/singles, all ages
Jesus describes Himself as the Cornerstone that His church would be built upon, a unified body of believers. Cornerstone will seek to build a foundation through Jesus by having class members share real life experiences, topical studies on loving one another, living in community, parenting, and specific study of the Bible. HOMEBUILDERS :: Parlor :: Couples, 50s-60s
We are committed to studying God’s word and applying it to our lives. We support each other with our prayers and with helping hands when needed. We share lots of love and laughter! We are currently taking an in-depth look at the book of James, with lots of opportunities for class participation and discussion about how James' teachings apply to us in our daily lives. LIVE AND LEARN :: B214 :: Couples/singles, 40s-70s
Our class is currently doing a study on Hebrews. There is lots of lively discussion and time for prayer. Our class ranges in size from 20-30 and has members in the age range of teens to sixties. Contact: Steve Bailey (924-7905, smbailey@aol.com)

NEW CREATIONS :: B201 :: Couples/singles, 40s-80s
New Creations is made up of a mix of couples and singles ranging in ages from mid-40s to 80s. Lessons are taught in a relaxed fashion where class questions and insights are encouraged by the teachers. Currently, we are doing a study on Romans. Contacts: Ed (384-8162) & Donna Guion (384-8161)

NEXT CLASS :: B210 :: All ages
The Next Class is open to people of any age who want to honestly discuss the joy, the mystery, the struggles and the gifts of walking with Christ. We are a smaller class of about 10 people with discussion topics that vary. We are currently studying Proverbs. Contact: Bernie Kane (bernarddiannekane@gmail.com)

OPEN BOOK :: East Wing Conf. Rm :: Couples/singles, 40s-60s
Studying the Bible a book at a time. Each week we read a chapter and then have group discussion. Currently, we are studying Acts. We also try to have a class social on a quarterly basis. We are a smaller class with about 15 in attendance each Sunday. Our class is made up of mostly couples, ages 40 to 60. PURSUIT :: B224 :: Couples/singles, 20s to 30s
Our teaching is led by one of our five mentor couples, a guest teacher, or a class member but is always scripture based with a lot of discussion. About twice a year we have a panel discussion during which our mentor couples field questions from class members. We sponsor several small group Bible studies for men, women, and couples; support one missionary family; have organized socials; and participate in ongoing service opportunities. Contacts: Will & Susan Ferguson (JWFerguson3@gmail.com)

SEEKERS :: B223 :: Couples/single, 50s to early 60s (anyone welcome)
We are a close community of believers sharing our lives and our walk of faith, with a high degree of involvement in missions and in ministry activities within the church and the local community. Our class roster is approximately 60, with attendance varying from 20 to 30 on a given Sunday due to many individuals serving in other areas of the church. Contacts: Chris & Sally Scott (690-3535)

:: Watershed :: College Age
A casual and conversational class that focuses on the sermon and scripture that is being preached on that morning. Our class is primarily for college age folks (18 - 24). WOMEN'S STUDY :: B209 :: Women, all ages
We will continue to read and discuss “Following Jesus: Biblical Reflections on Discipleship” by N. T. Wright. This book focuses by whole book chapters on scriptures, first from the Book of Hebrews, then a book chapter each from Colossians, Matthew, John, Mark, and Revelations. The study puts deep roots of gratitude to our faith in our Lord Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection, and encourages us to follow with thanksgiving our Emmanuel, “God with us” through rest prepared for following Him in service to His Holy Kingdom.
