- Fall Morning Men's Study - Lamentations
Begins on Thursday, October 20th at 6:30am, and will run 5 weeks.
The American church avoids lament, but we must recognize that while lament is often missing, it is an essential component of Christian faith. Lamentations helps us gain, individually and corporately, a right assessment of ourselves, particularly in light of who God is and what he desires for the world. Lamentations provides the necessary language of confession, grief, injustice, guilt and suffering, but it also reminds us of God's steadfast love, overwhelming grace, and the importance of communal worship, calling and care. Amidst this very strange, sad, troubling time for our world and nation, the timeless relatability of Lamentations is particularly timely; a right and good response to such seasons, be they personal or corporate. Hope you can join us. Email Doug Messer if you're interested or have any questions.
- Friday morning men's study - Evangelism Begins October 21st at 6:15am and will run for 5 weeks We're going to talk about what it is, what it's not, how to think about it, and how to be obedient to Jesus' call to do it, and what our feelings about it have to say about what we believe and how we live. We will meet in the middle school room in the Watershed building at Cedar Springs. Deadline to sign up is Monday, October 10th. To sign up, you will need to read a men's group contract and email me with an affirmation that you agree to be bound by it. Contact Matt Avery for this contract and if you have any questions.
