Good Samaritan Fund
How can I contribute financially to help the Deacon Ministry?
The GSF (Good Samaritan Fund) is able to provide assistance only from financial gifts by members and friends of CSPC. The GSF does not receive funds from the general budget of the Church, but only from gifts that are designated for the GSF.
All of the funds (100%) that are given are used to assist others. The members of the GSF team volunteer their time and talents to assist others in this important mission of the Church.
Financial gifts can consist of cash, check, or stocks.
If the financial gift is cash, please place it in an envelope and mark on the outside of the envelope “Good Samaritan Fund” and place into the offering plate on Sunday. Please do not send cash by mail to the church office.
If the financial gift is by check, please write “Good Samaritan Fund” in the memo section and place into the offering plate on Sunday or mail your check to the church office.
If you would like to make a monthly contribution to the GSF, an electronic funds transfer can be established. Please contact the church office, or enroll from this link allowing you an easier way to be systematic in your giving. One-time gifts can also be made electronically.
You can donate stocks and mutual funds that often provide you with a double tax benefit (assuming the investment has appreciated and that you have held the stock for more than one year). By donating appreciated securities you avoid the capital gains tax faced when selling the stock, and the church pays no capital gains tax when it sells the donated security. You should check with a tax professional before initiating any transfer of securities.
Please contact April Scheevel at (865) 291-5245 or april@cspc.net if you are considering this kind of gift so that we can understand how you would like this gift to be utilized and send you a tax receipt in a timely manner.
