Nursery Volunteers
The Nursery Ministry at Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church is bustling! Will you listen to the heart of God who may be calling you to "pour yourself out" for the littlest in His flock? Below are some simple ways you can get involved. If you want further information, please contact Nursery Director Kris Johnson at 865.291.5242.
Lead Care Giver – Each of the Nursery’s infant and toddler (birth-24
months) classrooms is staffed with a Lead Care Giver, who serves during
one worship service, twice per month. In this position you will be
receiving children from their parents into the classroom, ensuring that
the children are cared for according to Nursery policies and giving
direction to the Assistant Care Givers who are serving with you.
Assistant Care Giver – In this position, you will serve one or more
times per month in our infant or toddler classrooms. Assistant Care
Givers help the Lead Care Givers by playing and singing with, reading
to, feeding, and comforting the children, and changing diapers.
2-year-old Teachers – As a Teacher to our 2-year-olds, you have the
opportunity to plant some of the early seeds of truth in our young
children’s hearts. Teachers serve on a team with several others; they
share the responsibilities of teaching the Bible story, singing, playing
games and doing crafts with the children. All lessons and materials
are provided for the team each week. In this position, you will serve
during one worship service, twice per month.
Greeter/Escort – Welcoming new families to Cedar Springs in the Nursery
is a wonderful way to show hospitality. As a Greeter, you will ensure
that first time visitors find their way to the appropriate children’s
areas and to their child's classroom. In this position you will serve
between 8:45-9:15am or 10:30-11:00am.
Junior Helper - Junior Helpers assist our Lead Caregivers and Teachers by interacting with the 1 and 2 year old children. Junior Helpers are 12-17 years of age, and serve one or more times per month.
