Prayer Ministry

The Prayer Team serves as resource to encourage the prayer life of the local body of Christ at Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church through opportunities to participate and grow in the spiritual disciplines of prayer that move us toward love of God and love of others.

Prayer Center

The Prayer Center is located mid-way down the Mission Hall on the Kingston Pike side. As you face the Prayer Center the room to the left is a classroom for teaching on prayer and other disciplines of the spiritual life. The room to the right contains several different stations for prayer: prayers for personal and family renewal, for the congregation of Cedar Springs, for our city, state and country and for global missions. On Sundays this room is used between services and after the second service for the prayers for healing and wholeness.

Duncan Prayer Chapel

This lovely chapel, donated by the John Duncan family, is located just off of the Sanctuary under the steeple and is an ideal place for one or two to draw aside and pray. During the services on Sunday men and women gather here to pray for the congregations and those participating in the service and for the activities going on around our campus. While this began as as a session (elder and deacon) lead prayer time, it is open to any member who desires to share in this ministry for our church. A prayer guide is provided. On the second Sunday of the month, leaders meet with those in the chapel and offer to take those who so desire on a prayer walk around the campus.

Both the Duncan Prayer Chapel and the prayer side of the Prayer Center are open whenever the church buildings are open. We hope that you will make use of these rooms and find your prayer life enriched and rekindled.

Every Sunday during each worship service elders and deacons gather in the Duncan Prayer Chapel to pray for all who are participating in the service as well as for all the ministries that are taking place on our campus. Members are welcome to join in this prayer time.

Prayer Cords

“A cord of three strands is not quickly broken” - Ecclesistes 4:12

Most Christians have a desire and a need to strengthen their prayer lives. Among the many ways by which to do this is to make a commitment with two others to form a three fold Prayer Cord. It is comparatively simple to establish and you are encouraged to take the initiative.
