Children's Clothing Sale will not be held this year
After much prayer, consideration and evaluation the Cedar Springs Clothing Sale ministry has concluded that while the clothing sale ministry has served well our members, the community, and countless organizations for over two decades, the resources and facilities of Cedar Springs and the time volunteered by the Clothing Sale committee can now be used more effectively in different ways.
With the addition of so many consignment sales in our area, both for profit and non-profit, there are now many opportunities for our members/consignors to consign at other sales and for the community to purchase gently used items at low prices. Also, many of these sales give their remaining items to local charities in need.
The clothing sale committee will evaluate individually the organizations to which we annually contribute our remaining items in order to ensure that they will receive items from other sales and if needed may
develop a new plan in order to maintain support of these organizations.
If the opportunities to consign and purchase low cost gently used items in our community change, we will evaluate reinstating the sale in the future.
We would like to thank all of those that have served on the committee in the past and those at Cedar Springs that have supported this ministry. While it is difficult for many of us to let such a wonderful ministry end, we feel God moving us in new directions and instead of duplicating the efforts of so many consignment sales in our community, feel God can use our resources, facilities, and time in great ways that even we aren’t aware of yet. We are excited to see what He has planned for us!
