10:45 a.m. Classes

COVENANT :: B237-239 :: Couples/singles, 50+ (any age welcome)
We have an average class size of 60-85. Opportunities to meet new people come through dinners, picnics and 4x4 groups. In September we will begin a study of I & II Timothy.  Contacts: Bobby & Nancy Sherwood (865-670-2010) Dale & Barbara Keasling (865-694-5454).

DOULOS :: B226 :: Couples/singles/families, all ages
Our class feels strongly about the benefits of sharing together as Christ’s Body with its varied parts, so our ages range from grade school children to elderly adults, with a mix of single, married, divorced, and widowed members. Our format is to share and pray for each other first, then have an interactive lesson; we sit in concentric circles to facilitate discussion. We have 40-50 in attendance, have a high missions and international involvement, we share a monthly lunch, and enjoy an annual retreat together.  Contacts: Raymond and Renee Tucker (865-816-3293), Arnie Lumsdaine (865-966-3554)

EMMAUS :: B203 :: Couples/singles, 50s-80s
David Ackerson is the Convener for our class. He starts each class with prayer, announcements and encouraging thoughts. The Emmaus Class has a team of teachers covering some aspect of the Bible in short series which includes both lectures and discussions. On the 1st Sunday we meet in January, the class will share how God worked in our lives in 2016. Randy Halvorsen will lead us for several Sundays after that. Gary Owens will also be teaching during the winter as well. Elna Jacks actively supports and encourages our class missionaries and keeps the class up to date on their situations. We meet in small groups during the week as well as 4x4s that meet in homes or restaurants to promote relationships. Carl Faught plans a class retreat once a year with a program planned for fellowship and fun. Our special class project is Operation Christmas Child. Ages range from late 50s - 80s with both singles and couples. We have approximately 80-90 in attendance each Sunday.  Contacts: David & Linda Ackerson (865-539-1121), Gary & Barbara Owens (865-693-2053)

INTERNATIONAL CLASS :: B207 :: Internationals
Welcomes internationals in a spirit of friendship, with the understanding that many who visit for the first time have not heard the story of Jesus. Our focus is sharing this amazing story through Bible lessons presented by members of the class. Contacts: Lindon ThomasChris McNeilRachel John.

JOURNEYS :: Parlor :: Couples, 30s-40s w/ young children
The Journeys class is made up of couples in their 30s - 40s who are building relationships through Christ and walking together through the journeys of marriage, parenting and spiritual growth. Our class normally averages around 5 - 10 couples on Sunday mornings. We plan quarterly date nights as well as opportunities for family fellowship. Typically, we watch a video and discuss the topic or have guest speakers. This winter we plan to view and discuss the Tim Keller series Generosity: How God’s Radical Grace Makes Us Givers. Contacts: Mike & Ashley BaisleyPaul & Beth DyeBryan & Mary Ellen Starmer

We regularly study books of the Bible and are currently studying through the book of Colossians. We are discussion oriented, but we do not call on attendees to participate.
