Parents: Let’s Talk About…
As parents, we are given the tremendous privilege of raising and discipling our kids. There is no greater task. And there is no harder job. We want and need to establish the kind of relationship with our kids where they come to us with their questions and concerns, their doubts, and their fears so that we can relationally guide and support them.
We have the honor as parents to do the hard and lasting work of helping our children navigate living in the world, but not being of the world. It is impossible (and I would argue unwise) to completely shield our kids from culture. Instead, we need to roll up our sleeves and engage with our kids proactively.
Parents: you have what it takes. You don’t need to be an expert. You don’t have to be super comfortable or confident. You don’t have to have all the answers. Let’s get together for 4 weeks in September to discuss how to talk to our kids about some of the toughest subjects of the day: sex and relationships, gender and sexuality, and social media and identity.
