At Cedar Springs, we embrace our friends and neighbors with special needs, recognizing them as precious gifts from God. We wholeheartedly commit to supporting, uplifting, and learning from them, with the belief that together we can discover the deeper meaning of the Kingdom of God. Our ultimate desire is to foster an environment where they and their families feel a profound sense of belonging, breaking through isolation and cultivating a community of unwavering presence, support, and encouragement. We long to communicate the Gospel effectively to individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities knowing God has called us to equip and make disciples of all people.

To our friends and neighbors with special needs, YOU are an integral part of our community, and we want you to know that this is a place where you truly belong.

The Special needs ministry serves persons of all abilities. We strive to allow each person and those who care for them to participate fully at Cedar Springs. We work closely with parents and caregivers so that our volunteers and buddies can help each person feel loved while developing spiritually at his or her level.

Sundays

Buddy Ministry

We want everyone to feel apart of all that is going on at Cedar Springs. We are taking an inclusive approach and provide buddies for kids and students (ages birth – high school) who may need a little extra support in the classroom environment while at church on Sunday mornings. We would love to know if you are coming so that we have a buddy waiting for you.

Sensory Room- Coming Fall 2024

Wiggle Room

If you have a child who is unable to sit still for an entire service we have the Wiggle Room with a large one way window and  a TV streaming the service. There are also toys and comfortable seating in the Wiggle Room. The Wiggle Room is located on the North side (Kingston Pike) of the Sanctuary.

Siloam Class

Siloam is our Sunday School class for Adults with Special Needs. We meet at 9:30am on Sunday mornings in B200. The name “Siloam” comes from Mark 9 and means “the one who is Sent”. The core identity of this group is “the ones who are Sent”, sent into the world on a mission by God to display His works and glory.

Respite Events

Buddy Blast

Buddy Blast is a family respite event for kids (age birth through 17) with special needs and their siblings. Activities for kids will include free play, centers, games, crafts, music, lunch, and gym time. Parents get to pull away and have some much-needed time to themselves, going out for a meal, shopping, attending a movie, or maybe taking a nap. For more information or to volunteer at Buddy Blast contact marykendall@cspc.net.

Parent/Caregiver Support Group

We come together to encourage and support one another, offering hope and the encouragement of being in the “same boat” with one another.
