6th Grade – College Age

Cedar Springs Students

Our mission is to invite students and families to respond to God’s love:

By developing a deep relationship with Jesus, loving one another and serving the world. From middle school to college, we have opportunities for students to develop friendships, strengthen their faith, and ask the hard questions coming up in their lives.

6th – 8th grade

Middle School

It’s normal for middle school students to begin to have questions and doubts about their faith. They start asking the hard questions of why God made them and what’s their purpose in life.

We know part of a deep relationship with Jesus is working through your doubts and questions. Our Middle School Ministry is built around relationships with each other, with caring adults, and with God. We want students to feel welcomed, known, and loved.

We hope that through these relationships, students will feel encouraged and desire to pursue Christ on their own and in community!  We create a safe space for laughter, fun memories, and for students to ask questions and learn together.

Weekly Events

Hangtime ( Mondays after school until 5pm)

During Hangtime we split up guys and girls, and have a time of fellowship. We play games, have a snack, and do a short Bible study. Come join us for the fun!

The Mid (Wednesdays at 6pm)

The Mid is our weekly large group gathering on Wednesday nights. We start off by playing games, worshipping, and hearing a short lesson. From there, we split into smaller groups based on grade and gender. These groups are led by adult leaders to encourage conversation and go deeper into what the students are learning.

Sunday School (Sundays at 9:30am)

On Sunday mornings, we dive into the scriptures to grow deeper in our faith.

9th – 12th grade

High School

High school isn’t like it’s portrayed in the movies. Students often deal with isolation, loneliness, and doubts about their faith.

The High School Ministry at Cedar Springs is built around weekly gatherings that create real community and cultivate deep friendships while teaching students how to apply the Gospel to their lives.

When students graduate, we want them to know how the Gospel applies to each area of their life and how to find Gospel-centered community wherever they go next.

Weekly Events

TNT (Wednesdays at 7:30pm)

TNT (That Night Thing) is the entry point to everything we do. It is a chance for students to hear about Jesus in a fun and low-pressure environment. We play games, worship together, and hear God’s word taught.

Sunday School (Sundays at 9:30am)

On Sunday mornings, we gather together between worship services to connect with each other and have discussions around teaching from the Bible.

Small Groups (Sundays at 6pm)

Sunday nights we split into groups based on grade and gender to go deeper in God’s word together. This is our chance to share what is going on in our lives, pray together, and grow in our love for God and others.

Student Ministry Directions

Where To Go

Our Middle School and High School students meet in their own building at the back of the campus called The Watershed.  There are multiple parking lots around the building for you to park in before entering through the doors at the front.

Communicants

We offer an annual Communicants Class for 6th to 12th graders who are interested in joining the church and actively preparing to take the Lord’s Supper.

Two-Year Internship Program

Internship  opportunities in Student Ministries  are available to give those considering full-time vocational ministry a structured two-year opportunity to experience ministry first-hand, discern their own calling and giftedness, and be trained and equipped for current and future Kingdom service.

Summer Internship Program

For college students, our summer program is an option for those looking to be trained and equipped for Kingdom service.  It is 40-45 hours per week May 25-July 27. Our interns help lead camps, summer programs, and teaching, do contact work with students, and will receive spiritual training and development.

College Students

In college, everything you think you know is questioned. We want to be a safe place where college students can come ask hard questions and know they have people willing to struggle with them as their faith is challenged. We know that struggle is what ultimately leads to deeper and richer relationships with Christ.

Our college ministry partners with campus ministries to provide support on all of our local college campuses to show each and every college student how deeply Jesus loves them.
