We are not afraid to talk about the hard things in life.
We are a church searching for biblical truth. We are also a church not afraid to talk about hard topics. In fact, we believe the church is the best place to have these difficult discussions. Welcome to Searching for Truth. Searching for Truth will explore a series of mental health topics.
The truth is that many mental health issues like anxiety, OCD, addiction, and depression impact people around us. 1 in 5 adults live with a mental illness, 1 in 25 adults live with a serious mental illness, 50% of chronic mental illnesses start before 14 years of age, 75% of chronic mental illnesses start by age 24. The numbers don’t look much different for the church. If you are not impacted, chances are someone you love is.
These classes are for everyone, not just those directly impacted. We all need to learn the truth behind these mental health topics so that we can care for those around us. We all need to be informed so that we can respond in love.

The Truth About Anxiety and Faith
Rates of anxiety have been increasing at alarming rates across all age-ranges over the past few years. A global pandemic has made the issue of stress and anxiety more extreme. Even if we ourselves don’t struggle with anxiety, chances are good that someone we love does. So what do we do with our anxiety, stress, and worries? And how does God meet us in the midst of our anxiety? Let’s talk about it as we search for the truth of anxiety and faith.
Searching for Truth: Anxiety and Faith was led by Summers McMurray, Psy.D.

The Truth About Pornography
In this class, we learned about the addiction to pornography and how it now impacts 7/10 males and 5/10 females. The average age of first exposure is now 8 years old. If you don’t think this impacts you, this addiction likely impacts someone in your family.
The class was led by John Brower, M.S., a licensed and professional counselor. John specializes in helping those who are struggling with compulsive behaviors, including drugs, alcohol, sex, and gambling. John also works in trauma, sexual compulsivity, paraphilia, guilt, shame, general anxiety, and depression.
