Red Flags to Watch For:

• Urgency or threats – messages that pressure you to act immediately.

• Unusual requests – asking for sensitive information, gift cards, wire transfers, or financial help.

• Unexpected texts or emails – Cedar Springs will never solicit funds or sensitive information via text or email.

• Sender address mismatch – the name may look right, but the email address is slightly off (for example, @gmail.com instead of @cspc.net).

• Poor grammar or formatting – awkward wording, unusual capitalization, or spelling errors.

• Suspicious links or attachments – always hover over links to check the actual URL before clicking.

What To Do If You Receive One:

• Do not reply or click any links.

• Verify immediately by contacting the church office directly if a request seems unusual.

• Review privacy settings on your personal email and social media accounts to limit exposure.
