Steve Smith

Steve Smith serves as Executive Director. He grew up in Savannah, Georgia, where he came to faith in Christ at a young age and developed a deep love for the local church. After sensing a call to ministry during college, Steve spent more than three decades serving churches in leadership roles focused on ministry strategy, team development, organizational leadership, and helping communicate and carry out their mission effectively. He earned degrees at Mercer University, Rollins College, and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Having spent a lifetime in and around the church, Steve has seen God's faithfulness through seasons of growth, challenge, transition, and blessing. These experiences have shaped his conviction that the church is God's primary instrument for advancing the gospel and caring for His people. More than anything, Steve loves the local church and considers it a privilege to spend his life serving Christ and His people. Steve and his wife, Brandi, married in 1996 and have two daughters, Ellie and Olivia, as well as two wonderful sons-in-law, Cade and Max. In his free time, Steve enjoys spending time with family, reading history, watching a good biographical documentary, and being near the water. He is also known for having been an avid barefoot water skier during his years serving in Orlando, Florida—a pastime that tends to spark conversation.
