Welcoming the Stranger: Serving Knoxville’s Refugee Community
Sunday, December 6
9:30–10:30 AM
Education Building | B203/B205

What does it look like to love our neighbors in a practical way?

This holiday season, join us during the Sunday School hour to learn how we can welcome and serve refugee and immigrant families right here in Knoxville.

Hear from Peter Green of Bridge Refugee Services and Tom Job, Pastor Emeritus of Christ Community Church and a Bridge Refugee Services volunteer, as they share stories, insights, and the current needs of our local refugee and immigrant community. Learn how culturally appropriate food can help meet families’ unique cultural and dietary needs, hear about the cross-cultural experiences of local families, and discover practical ways to make a difference.

Inspired by Jesus’ words in Matthew 25:35, we’ll explore how generosity, hospitality, and simple acts of welcome can offer hope and reflect Christ’s love to our neighbors during the holidays and beyond.

Bring your Sunday School class and discover how you can be part of welcoming, supporting, and serving our neighbors!
