Pastoral Prayer
Heavenly Father, our Lord, our God.  You are the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.  You alone are worthy of our worship.  You are the One, True, and living God.

You are the everlasting Father.  A thousand years in Your sight are like yesterday when it passes by, like a watch in the night.  You are the first and the last, the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.

You are the king eternal, who dwells in the high and holy place, and also with the contrite and lowly of spirit.  You meet us in our highs and in our lows, when we’re up and when we’re down.  We’ve won and when we’ve lost.  You are with us no matter what.

In your wisdom and timing, in the fullness of time, you sent your son Jesus to this earth to be born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might become your sons and daughters.  We are grateful for your grace seen in sending your Son to rescue us from sin and death.

Father, hear our prayers of adoration for all you are and all you’ve done for us.

And Father, you have sent your Spirit into our hearts, who reminds us that we belong to you.  We no longer wander on our own but belong to you body and soul.

We pray for John and Marion Barrack in the passing of Marion’s mother, Barbara.

We pray for Brett and Susan Cafferty in the passing of Susan’s father, Gray Riddick.

We also pray for Andy Chermely, Deacon Hubbard, Wanda Mooney, Becky Chester and Dan Foutch.

Father, hear our prayers for those who are in need your power in their lives.

We pray for the Sarang Church and pastor Jin.  We thank you for their faithful presence here in Knoxville, for their love for your people and your son Jesus.  Would you strengthen them and encourage them with your Spirit and Word.

Father, we pray your purpose, and plan will be established in Knoxville and in our country and around the globe so that many more would come to know your saving grace through Word and work of your Son, Jesus Christ.  And it is in His powerful name that we bring all these requests before you this morning in prayer.  We pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
